Welcome to the Right To Spend. A website dedicated to fighting the banking blockage put in place by MasterCard, Visa, American Express,PayPal, Western Union and the Bank of America against the organization Wikileaks.

For consumers, this blockade proves that we are unable to support perfectly legal organizations of our choice. How would you feel if you couldn’t donate to an animal charity or a human rights charity? If these companies are allowed to block donations to organizations for no reason, where does the financial censorship stop?

This blockade is an appalling breach of consumer rights worldwide, and as my efforts have shown, there is very little Australian consumers can do to overturn this decision. This doesn’t mean we should give up! There are lots of ways to fight the blockade including those listed under ‘Take Action’.

I encourage you to fight this blockade by whatever means you are comfortable with. Send an email, write a letter, fill in an online form or make a phone call. If every person, across the world does this, think of what we might achieve…
